I'm an independent journalist, editor and media consultant with extensive working experience in Europe, China and Southeast Asia.
I travel wherever assignments take me.
To make complex issues come to life by showcasing their effects on people in a creative and highly realistic way.
My work has taken me from the melting glaciers of Urumqi in the far northwest of China to flooded cities in Thailand. From board rooms of the largest companies in the world and labs of leading scientists to the wonder of the first traffic light in Myanmar's Bagan region. From gritty prostitution zones in Europe's port city to mosques, parliaments and cow sheds.
My work appears in newspapers, magazines, online and on tv and wire services based in both Europe and Asia.
I am currently based in Switzerland, after nine years in Asia. With the exception of Laos and North Korea, I have worked in every country in the Far East.
Between 2008 and 2013 I was based in Shanghai, China, as the Far East correspondent for Dutch print and broadcast media. From 2013 until 2017, I covered Southeast Asia from Singapore - its prime hub city.
My experience working on local, national and international levels, and across different media platforms, allows me to choose from a wide array of methods to bring a story across.
